A modern, permanent, lightfast dark emerald green with a blue undertone. Its name has been phonetically shorted from Phthalocyanine and is a Grumbacher trademark. Since its introduction in the late 1930s, it has become an essential green on most palettes. It is used instead of Viridian when its less vivid effects are desired. It is often used in seascapes and landscapes, and for low-key paintings. Pigments: PB15:4, PBk9, PG7 Semi-transparent Lightfast Rating: I Excellent AP
