The Meiji era in Japan ushered forth a combination of traditional Japanese cultural associations and western influences during the mid to late 1800s. Each ink in this series is inspired by a symbol of this time period.
Shimbashi is the name of a fashionable neighborhood in Tokyo known for its Geisha during the Meiji era. The bright, cerulean blue color was worn by these fashion leaders, usually in their kimonos and accessories. Today the Shimbashi Geisha district is well known for its beauty particularly in the evenings during cherry blossom season.
Use this dye-based ink with glass pens, fountain pens, dip pens, or brushes.
