The Meiji era in Japan ushered forth a combination of traditional Japanese cultural associations and western influences during the mid to late 1800s. Each ink in this series is inspired by a symbol of this time period.

Shikon is a deep purple color that symbolized wealth in Western cultures and was adopted by Japan in the Meiji era. Purple was often used in women’s clothing because it was considered chic and trendy.

Use this dye-based ink with glass pens, fountain pens, dip pens, or brushes.
