Introduced in 1834 as a whiter, brighter replacement for the toxic Lead White using Zinc Oxide. Chinese White is more transparent than Titanium White. It's useful in creating special effects, such as ocean spray or stars with a splatter technique, or used directly to paint bold, sharp highlights.
