An opaque, soft yellow with a peachy bias, this is an extremely old color dating into 16th century BC and was a favorite among the Old Masters. Its name comes from Naples, Italy where pigment deposits were once found on Mt. Vesuvius. Traditionally used in landscapes where a receding yellow is required.
