The Warm Gray Range consists of 8 shades of gray with a yellow bias. Warm Gray 8 is a slight exception to this, as the deepest tone with the range it also incorporates a slight red bias along with the pronounced yellow seen in the lighter Warm Gray colors. The Warm Grays are often used with the Cool Gray range to create chrome effects, painted metal effects, gradients for black and dark objects, shadows in the natural world and for portraiture. The Warm Grays are extremely versatile and are considered essential for most illustration projects. Light Ivy can be incorporated into the Warm Gray range and falls between Warm Grays 2 and 3. Naples Yellow can also be added to extend the Warm Gray range before Warm Gray 1.
