Hi there! I'm Annamarie and welcome to my Chartpak Artist Page! I am a children's book author and illustrator with two published titles as of now, The Christmas Spider-A Millie and Mo Adventure and Princess Gwendolyn and the Light in the Night, and several more in the works!

I've been drawing and creating stories ever since I was a little girl and am proud to be a part of a family of really incredible artists.I love working in watercolor, ink, alcohol marker and pencil and some of my favorite Chartpak products include pretty much anything from Kuretake and Higgins! I love Japanese watercolors and Kuretake Gansai Tambi are my absolute favorites and I love the rich colors and how versatile Higgins inks are, especially the new Acrylic Ink line. I'm a part of an online community of pen and ink artists and Higgins ink is my go-to brand for creating with both brush and pen.

One thing I cannot stand is AI and you will NEVER see any of that garbage coming from me. I am a REAL ARTIST and I support REAL ARTISTS, not typists who haven't put in the time and effort to hone actual artistry and have taken the lazy way out. Higgins Black Magic Ink

Higgins Black Magic India Ink is a premium, professional-grade ink that offers deep, rich pigmentation ideal for a wide range of artistic and technical applications. Renowned for its intense black color and smooth flow, this waterproof ink is perfect for creating bold brush strokes and precise pen work for calligraphy, illustration, and comic art. The dense black color is excellent for scanning and reproduction without losing quality or detail.

Black Magic is made with a finely dispersed carbon pigment that ensures a consistent, even application, whether using dip pens, brushes, or airbrushes. Its quick-drying formula prevents smudging, making it a reliable choice for detailed work that requires sharpness and clarity. Black Magic is water resistant, meaning it may smudge with water or other inks when used on less porous surfaces. This may be avoided when allowed to dry for 24 hours, or maybe used advantageously to blend shades and gradients within a short window. It’s ideal for use as a top layer in a mixed media composition or alone for striking contrast on white surfaces.

Usage:
May be diluted with distilled water. Close cap tightly after use. Do not mix with acids, or use as tattoo ink. Not launder-proof. Clean tools with water immediately after use or with Higgins Pen Cleaner for dried ink. Shake well before use as the black pigment may settle over time.

A traditional, Japanese watercolor, developing colors that are based off of those seen in nature.

Colors are vivid and opaque, and replaceable pans are carefully filled so paint is smooth, rather than granulated, and dries with a slight sheen.

Unique technology allows for the development of pigment ink that leaves flat-washes easily, while remaining easy to blend.

Gansai Tambi ink can be diluted to create a more watercolor-like picture, while still remaining bright and opaque, or can be used as a gauche by limiting water dilution.
