Ashley Bravin is a disabled artist and advocate currently living and working out of her studio just outside of Nashville, Tennessee with her medical alert service dog, Rico, and her retired
service dog, Rosie.

Born and raised in Southern California, Ashley studied both at Carnegie Mellon University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Burren College of Art in County Clare, Ireland, graduating with a BFA in painting and drawing. Her work has been exhibited extensively throughout the United States and abroad, and has been featured in shows at the University of Arts London, the Courthouse Gallery in Ireland, and the Museum of Art and History and Torrance Art Museum in California. She has been the recipient of two grants and a fellowship, and has participated as an artist in residence twice at The Chautauqua Institute of Chautauqua, New York.

Ashley's current work focuses on
documenting and processing her experiences with her chronic conditions.

Higgins Black India Ink is the first ink Higgins produced in 1880. Micro-pulverized black carbon is suspended in a shellac solution to create a deep charcoal pigmented drawing ink. Renown for its rich color and fluid consistency, Higgins India Ink has been a favorite among artists, calligraphers, and illustrators for over 140 years. Artists depend on Higgins India Ink for its reliable ability to make consistent bold and expressive brush strokes and delicate pen work.

Celebrated not only for its permanence and waterproof qualities but also for its ability to produce a full spectrum of shades, from light to dark for high-contrast work, depending on dilution. India ink’s fast-drying nature and archival quality ensure that artwork maintains vibrancy and integrity. When mixed with other Higgins inks, it can create muted shades excellent for gradations and shadows. This ink is compatible with a wide range of media, making it ideal for outlining, lettering, and mixed media projects involving watercolor, acrylics, graphite, pastel, alcohol markers, and more!

Usage: May be diluted with distilled water. Close cap tightly after use. Do not mix with acids, or use as tattoo ink. Not launder-proof. Clean tools with water immediately after use or with Higgins Pen Cleaner for dried ink. Shake well before use as the black pigment may settle over time.
