Koh-I-Noor® Gioconda Graphite Artist Set, 10 pc

A great 10 piece basic drawing set includes traditional and water-soluble graphite pencils, graphite blocks, and blending tools all housed in a portable tin case. Each graphite tool presents you with a wide range of drawing possibilities in a collection of graphite degrees to give depth to your artwork.

Set includes:

2 Graphite Blocks (4B & 6B)
Pure Hardtmuth® leads provide the widest coverage in the Koh-I-Noor graphite range. Solid graphite drawing instruments come in 1/4" x 3" blocks. Our blocks can be shaped with a sanding block. The shavings can be used for smudging, providing the artist with a range of tonal values.

3 Gioconda Graphite Aquarell Pencils (2B, 4B, 6B)
These pencils have a silky smooth laydown and create a rich range of values when used dry. The lead has the added benefit of being water-soluble, and drawings take on watercolor-like effects when a wash is applied with a brush. Pencils can also be dipped in water to create a super smooth, dense line.

2 Toison D'or Pencils (2B & 4B)
Toison D’or pencils are the pinnacle of graphite drawing instruments.  Encased in California cedar, they can be identified by their black lacquer and cream, gold, and black bands. California cedar is one of the best woods for pencil making because it is a renewable resource that prevents warpage. The Hardtmuth® leads are perfectly centered within the casing to ensure even, clean sharpening, and are glued throughout to prevent breakage. Premium Hardtmuth® graphite is combined with a select mixture of clays and high-quality, proprietary binders to create an extra smooth drawing lead that doesn’t scratch or snag, regardless of degree.

1 Progresso Woodless Pencil (6B)
An artist favorite, these pencils are made entirely of graphite and coated in lacquer to keep hands clean.  The solid core gives the artist 5 times more lead than a traditional graphite pencil. They have a solid, weighty feel and glide smoothly across the paper when used on point or on their broad side. They may be used with any traditional hand held or electric sharpener to achieve a fine point. The shavings may also be used to smudge. The dense, artist degree range of Hardmuth® graphite lays down value in rich, deep tones to effortlessly define form and spatial relationships.

1 Kneaded Eraser
This eraser becomes soft when pushed and pulled like putty and can be shaped to a fine point to pick up graphite pigment from the paper. A clean kneaded eraser can lightly erase areas to create highlights. A kneaded eraser coated with graphite is useful for smudging and blending. To clean this type of eraser, simply knead it.

1 Shading Stump
Made from molded paper pulp, this tool is a firm stick with a velvety texture used to blend and smudge graphite. It can be cleaned with a sanding block, or by rubbing it across a clean piece of paper.

All contents are AP Non-toxic and conform to ASTM D-4236
