Rooted in the ancient traditions of Japan, the Goshuincho stamp book has been used for centuries by pilgrims and travelers to collect goshuin—intricately stamped and calligraphed seals obtained from temples and shrines. Often inscribed with the temple’s name, date of visit, and a blessing, this notebook is a special keepsake. The Goshuincho is accordion-folded, allowing for a seamless flow of entries that feel almost like a sacred scroll unfolding with stories of travel and the inner journey.

While some continue to use Goshuincho with their original intention, many have repurposed them as elegant travel journals and sketchbooks. The thick, high-quality paper is perfect for sketching and drawing, calligraphy, ink painting, mixed media, and collage. Another unique feature of this notebook is the ability to hold tickets, photos, and other ephemera via the cut corners on each page.
