Pale Olive has the strongest yellow bias in the yellow-green range. It's a muted mid-tone, earthy green. In comparison, Light Olive is decidedly more blue and far brighter than Pale olive. Dark Olive is deeper than Pale Olive with less yellow and more gray. Olive is far more green in tone than either Pale or Dark Olive. While Dark Olive, Pale Olive and Ivy do not make as smooth of a gradation as other colors, they are great for combining to make a khaki camouflage, and for highlights and shading in the natural world.
